A Wellsboro man escaped injury when his truck hit a deer on State Route 287 in Delmar Township on Wednesday, November 16th.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield in a report, 64-year-old Jerry D. Bowen was headed south in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado at approximately 4:45 a.m. The truck hit a deer that entered the roadway. The specific location of the crash was 410 feet to the north of Calkins Road.

Bowen was wearing his seat belt, and he was not injured. The truck became disabled, and it was towed by Sandu Towing of Wellsboro.
