Donald_Trump_Laconia_Rally,_Laconia,_NH_4_by_Michael_Vadon_July_16_2015_03Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump will be speaking in Wilkes-Barre on the evening of Monday, October 10th.

Trump will speak at the Mohegan Sun Arena located at 255 Highland Park Boulevard at 7:00 p.m., and the arena will be open three hours prior to the start of the rally. Although seats are free, there will be a parking fee of $10. Seats are first come, first serve. A total of about 10,000 people can fit in the arena. You can register for the rally on Donald Trump’s website here. Please note that a maximum of 2 tickets can be registered per mobile number.

According to authorities, there should be increased traffic from 2:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., and again from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Specifically, traffic will be dense at Highland Park Boulevard, at Interstate 81’s exit ramp 168, at route 309, and Mundy Street near the Wyoming Valley Mall. In addition to dense traffic, there will also be road closures in effect before and after the rally. Highland Park Boulevard from Mundy Street to the I-81 ramp will be closed in both directions.

There will also be an increased security presence. The Mohegan Sun Arena website states that those who attend the rally must be screened by a metal detector prior to going into the arena. Video, audio recording, and cellphones are permitted. Cameras are permitted as well, however cameras with professional lenses or detachable lenses are not allowed.

Trump also visited Wilkes-Barre on April 25th of this year, which was one day before Pennsylvania’s primary election. The arena was filled up for that rally, and some people who showed up were not able to attend the rally. Interestingly, tomorrow is Pennsylvania’s voter registration deadline for those wanting to vote in the November general election.
