A Towanda man is facing rape and assault charges after he allegedly raped a woman in September of 2007.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda, 32-year-old Kenneth Oliver Raymond Sr. allegedly raped a woman, who is now 39 years of age, at an Athens Township residence. Raymond faces the following charges: Rape Forcible Compulsion, a 1st degree felony; Sexual Assault, a 2nd degree felony; Agg. Ind. Assault W/O Consent, a 2nd degree felony; and Indec Asslt-W/O Cons Of Other, a 2nd degree misdemeanor. The charges were filed in Magisterial District Court 42-3-02.
Raymond’s preliminary arraignment was on Thursday, September 22nd, in front of Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw. He met his $25,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is on October 11th, 2016, at 10:45 a.m., also in front of Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw. Please remember that the accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
In another case that was filed in the Court of Common Pleas of Bradford County, Raymond was found guilty of Corruption of Minors and Criminal Conspiracy, which are both 1st degree misdemeanors. He was sentenced to 2-4 months in prison for the Corruption of Minors Charge and 2 years on probation for the Criminal Conspiracy Charge. The charges relate to an incident that occurred on April 13th, 2004.
In yet another case, Raymond pleaded guilty to Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, which is a summary charge, in connection with an incident that occurred on January 24th, 2004. The charge was filed in Magisterial District Court 42-3-02.
In a separate case that was filed in the Court of Common Pleas of Bradford County, Raymond pleaded guilty to misdemeanor Use/Poss Of Drug Paraph on April 3rd, 2013. He had to pay a fine. The charge relates to an incident that occurred on January 4th, 2013.
