A New Albany man is facing a corruption of minors charge in connection with an alleged incident that occurred in Franklin Township on August 26th, 2016.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda, 27-year-old Stephen Garinger allegedly engaged in intercourse with a 16-year-old girl at a residence on Hickory Hill Lane. According to what Garinger told police, he was spending the night at a friend’s house with his wife and his kids. He also said that he began talking with his friend’s sister, who is 16 years of age. Sometime after Garinger and his family went to bed, he exited the bedroom. Then, he allegedly asked the 16-year-old girl to engage in sex. The girl allegedly consented. The alleged incident happened at around 12:30 a.m.
The corruption of minors charges were filed on Magisterial District Court 42-3-03 on Tuesday, September 20th. Please remember that the accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
