There is new information about the double fatal shooting that occurred in Williamsport on Monday, October 31st.
According to police in Williamsport, at least one man who was wearing a mask might have entered the residence at 613 Poplar Street at about 9:50 p.m. Police also think someone pointed a gun at another person who lives at the home. Police have not said if the gunman(s) took anything from the home.
50-year-old Kristine Kibler and her son, 25-year-old Shane Wright, were both killed during the incident. According to a Sun-Gazette report, 21-year-old Cheyanna Wright, who is Kibler’s daughter, was in the home when the crime took place. Three children and three other adults were also in the residence when the shooting occurred.
Cheyanna Wright told the Sun-Gazette that she, Shane Wright, and other family members had went trick-or-treating prior to the shooting. Cheyanna Wright also told the Sun-Gazette that she, her 2-year-old son, and her boyfriend Nate Daniel were in her bedroom when she heard her mom scream. Cheyanna Wright noted that the bedroom door was locked. Cheyanna Wright explained to the Sun-Gazette that when she opened the door of the bedroom, she witnessed her mom being held against her will by a gunman wearing a mask and gloves. Cheyanna Wright said that the gun was then pointed at her and she closed the bedroom door in response. Then, Nate Daniel called 911.
Cheyanna Wright went on to tell the Sun-Gazette that while she was not sure how many gunmen were in the residence, she believed there might have been two of them. According to what Cheyanna Wright told the Sun-Gazette, she thought the gunman may have been searching for cash.
