Charlie Messina (center) presents a $267 contribution to Terri Dennison (right) as Paul Pritchard (left) looks on. Dennison is secretary of the Galeton Development Corporation and Pritchard is treasurer. A customer purchased a Woodtex shed through Corner Self Storage and designated the corporation to receive the donation from Messina. The money will be used toward the cost of a feasibility study to determine the future of Berger Lake and Dam in Galeton.

This Saturday, May 27, Corner Self Storage at 1906 Route 6 in Gaines Township is hosting its annual open house and garage sales day. The storage facility is located at the intersection of Routes 6 and 349 in downtown Gaines, near Galeton.

“Over 30 of our storage renters will have tables set up and be selling items between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. this Saturday,” said Charlie Messina, who with his wife Diane own Corner Self Storage.

Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. that day, Corner Self Storage is also hosting an open house. “We will be grilling and giving away free hot dogs, cookies and soda during those two hours,” Messina said. “Everyone is welcome to stop in.”

Visitors can also see a display of Woodtex products from garden sheds to garages during the open house. Anyone who purchases a Woodtex product through Corner Self Storage any time this year can designate a 5013C non-profit organization to receive a monetary contribution from the couple. They are contributing 50 percent of their commission from each sale to a designated non-profit organization.  The Messinas have already donated over $2,000 in commissions this year.
